The Tigers have completed the pre-season exhibition games and now look ahead to the first regular season game against Wisconsin-Superior on November 17th.
Exhibition #1 - vs. UCCS
CC had it's first exhibition contest against Division II UC-Colorado Springs on Saturday, November 4th. The Tigers started the game slowly getting behind 23-4 before mounting a comeback and taking the lead, 44-40, just before halftime. CC held onto the lead for the second half and upset the Mountain Lions 73-71. Eric Houska led CC with 26 points and 6 assists. Chris Martin followed with 15 points and Bobby Roth scored 11. The win is Coach Partee's second Division II upset in the past three seasons. In 2015, CC upset Colorado School of Mines in a pre-season exhibition game.
Exhibition #2 - vs. BYU
The Tigers also traveled to Division I Brigham Young University for an exhibition game on Wednesday, November 8th. CC struggled against the strong, veteran BYU squad and fell 95-35. Colorado College and BYU used to compete against each other in the Rocky Mountain Conference, now the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Both CC and BYU were conference opponents during the 1920's and 1930's.
With two strong exhibition games out of the way, the Tigers will now focus on Division III competition. CC travels to Menomonie, WI on November 17th to face UW-Superior and then either UW-Stout or Marian. The non-conference schedule will then come home for the Rocky Mountain Thanksgiving Classic on November 22-25. CC will play Carleton and Sarah Lawrence in that tournament.
Thank you again for all of your support! Go Tigers!
