Class of ’06,
If this last year has taught us anything, it’s that community is important. As we plan our 15-year reunion for the fall, we’ve been reflecting on the value of our Colorado College community.
Fifteen years ago, our class started something special – a scholarship to help students with financial need attend CC. We started the AppreCCiate Scholarship with mostly small donations of what little cash we had (including bills taped to Dick Celeste’s robe at graduation).
Now, 15 years letter, the legacy of our collective commitment lives on:
- Total AppreCCiate Scholarship fund: $251,342.62.
- Number of AppreCCiate Scholars: 13
- Average Scholarship Amount Awarded: $9,940
- Percent of AppreCCIate Scholars from families with high financial need: 100%
As we all think about coming back to campus for our 15-year reunion in October, let’s recommit ourselves to making CC more accessible. We ask that you help us reach our goal of raising $22,000 and securing gifts from 14% of our class.
Some of us signing this letter could not have attended CC without need-based scholarships like AppreCCiate. Those of us on the committee care so deeply that we have pledged our support to each double our gift if over 14% of our class makes a donation of any size during our 15th anniversary year. It’s a challenge!
While we encourage you to support any program at CC, if you’d like your gift to go to the AppreCCiate Scholarship, please give online today. You can also Venmo your gift to @CCAnualGiving (be sure to include "Class of 2006 Reunion Gift" in the payment notes).
