Dear Class of 2011,
We hope you are well and healthy, and we want you to know that we are thinking about you during this time. As you may have heard, our 10-year reunion will be Oct. 8-10, 2021. It is important as ever to rally our class to give back in honor of this milestone reunion.
In light of the senseless deaths of people of color at the hands of the police, in light of legislation designed to suppress minority votes, in light of the rise of anti-Asian hate crimes, and in light of the overt and subtle acts of racism that people in this country experience daily, we have elected to dedicate the Class of 2011’s fundraising gift towards the Antiracism at Colorado College Fund. This fund is dedicated to funding programs which actively examine and oppose the ways that racism exists and persists at Colorado College. Our goal is to donate at least $10,000 to the Anti-Racism Fund (and we hope that at least 18% percent of our class will contribute).
Will you help us reach our class goal? As a class of 610, each alumni only needs to contribute $17 to reach this goal. Whether you pledge a monthly gift or give $2,011, $201.10 or $20.11 annually, you can help us make a difference in shaping the next generation of changemakers and further anti- racism efforts at the college. We’re counting all gifts, regardless of amount or designation count toward our class goal. You can give online or Venmo your gift to @CCAnnualGiving (be sure to include “class of 2011 reunion gift” in the payment notes). One of us will be in touch soon to provide updates, discuss our class gift, and answer any questions.
Colorado College is already doing amazing things with your investment to transform CC with its Antiracism Implementation Plan. For nearly two years, the CC community has been examining, thinking, discussing, sharing, and collaborating to understand what would most meaningfully transform Colorado College as we oppose racism and reach for greater diversity, equity, and inclusion. CC has chosen to hold itself accountable, to open its eyes, and to work proactively toward becoming an antiracist institution.
Plans are underway for a combined on-campus Homecoming gathering Oct. 8-10, 2021, for all 2020 and 2021 reunion classes. We hope you will save the date and join us. Let’s do this!
