Greetings Class of 1991,
Your committee is busy planning an exciting Reunion Weekend on campus, Oct. 8-10, 2021. What better way to dust off a year of quarantine than to participate in the 30th Reunion Cross Campus Coed Streak? Teams will start at Mathias, pass between Tutt and Palmer, pause for 10 burpees in Tava Quad, and then race to the finish line at South Hall (directly across from the brand new Ed Robson Arena). Feeling competitive? Fire up your group chats and form your team now! Practice over the summer is encouraged, but not required. Wait, what’s that? We’re not interested in seeing each other naked anymore? Ok, maybe we’ll stick to a fully clothed Cheyenne Canyon hike. Fret not, we are planning a fantastic weekend for our 30th!
In the meantime, we are also looking toward the future of Colorado College. We hope you will reflect on your time at CC and the unique experiences that shaped who you are today. What will it take for CC to continue to attract and retain the most talented, diverse, adventurous, intellectually curious, and compelling students? Resources. Excellent Professors. Strong Leadership. State-of-the-Art Facilities. Unique Opportunities. Did we mention Resources???
The Lofgren Family Memorial Scholarship is part of Colorado College’s priority to raise $100 million for scholarship and to reach 50% alumni participation during CC’s Building on Originality Campaign. We’re excited about a new challenge to fully fund the Lofgren scholarship at Colorado College and continue advocating for carbon monoxide safety to prevent further tragedies: https://www.coloradocollege.edu/us/giving/lofgren/index.html.
Supporting financial scholarship through the Lofgren fund or any other scholarship opportunity increases affordability and accessibility for talented and diverse applicants who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend CC.
With the completion of the Ed Robson Arena this fall, so too arrives the Mike and Barbara Yalich Student Services Center. This new facility will serve as a one-stop shop for student support at the college where students can find health and wellness support, counseling services, the bookstore, and other offices. Our goal is to raise $50,000 in order to name the lounge area in honor of the class of 1991.
Your Reunion Committee invites you to join us in committing to support financial scholarship, innovation/creativity, or any other area of need you feel is worthy of your resources. We have set a fundraising goal of $500,000 and, most importantly, a participation goal of 30% in hopes that all classmates will consider giving at any level in honor of our 30th Reunion. Remember that a pledge can be paid over a span of 5 years with the total amount still attributed to our 30th reunion year. With your participation and generosity, we can all help turn possibilities into opportunities that will impact future Colorado College students for many years to come.
Your 30th Reunion Planning Committee
