Club Sport: CC Women's Ultimate Frisbee 2020

Hello! We are the Colorado College Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team, Lysistrata’s Tools (Strata for short). As a Division-1 club sport, we represent CC around the county and compete against teams from schools more than 33 times the size of CC. This year, we will be traveling everywhere from California to Missouri. While we are fortunate enough to receive resources from CC, there are expenses that we must cover as a team as well. We are hoping this CC Crowdfunding campaign will help us reach our goal of $5,000. The money we raise will go towards flights, ground transportation, accommodations, uniforms, and most importantly, to ensure that any Strata player can travel with the team regardless of their financial situation. With this in mind, we hope that our friends, family, and alumni will help Strata reach our goal and allow us to carry on our love of Ultimate!

Who we are:

We are a group of spirited, passionate, hardworking players who are devoted to playing the great sport of Ultimate. From our founding in 1992, our team has been dedicated to the spirit of the game, team cohesion, working and playing hard, while having lots of fun in the process. Ultimate Frisbee is a unique sport that can reach high levels of competition without sacrificing spirit, respect, and fun. Coming from a small, liberal arts school, we have a reputation as an underdog. In the past four years, we have qualified for D-1 College Nationals Championships once, proving that we are a serious, elite team that can compete with the best in the country.

Why you should support us:

Strata is invited to several tournaments around the country annually, and our ability to attend depends on our team funds. We are grateful to the CC Athletics Department for their support, yet due to the nature of club sports, the school cannot cover all of our team expenses. Therefore, we are reaching out to friends and family for contributions to help us continue our participation in the national Ultimate scene. Funds will go primarily toward transportation costs for our team and our coaches, Emily Woolridge, Monica Weindling, and Carolina Gonzalez-Llanos. It will also go toward accommodations and uniforms. Most of our tournaments are out of state and travel costs add up quickly! Therefore, we are hoping to raise $5,000 to make sure that anyone can be on Strata and participate regardless of financial situation.
