Tiger Challenge Update

Over the weekend of November 2-3, CCFS hosted 13 schools, from four states for our annual home competition, Tiger Challenge. Despite fierce competition, CC finished in 8th place overall. This means we are within striking distance of qualifying for the 2019 Intercollegiate National Championships. The top four teams after all three Intercollegiate Competitions qualify, so to remain competitive and to achieve our dream, the entire team needs to make the trips to UC Berkeley and the University of Denver. We need your help in order to purchase flights, lodging, and a rental van for 13 people. We want to make sure no team members have to pay out of pocket.

Here are our fabulous results from Tiger Challenge:

Arielle (Junior, Co-Captain):

5th Place Pre Bronze Pattern Dance

1st Place Juvenile Solo Free Dance

Surbhi (Sophomore):

6th Place Preliminary Pattern Dance Group A

Hollis (Sophomore):

4th Place Preliminary Pattern Dance Group A

7th Place Excel Preliminary Ladies Free Skate

Marco (Junior):

2nd Place Excel Senior Men Free Skate

2nd Place Senior Men Short Program

Julia (Sophomore):

4th Place Championship Senior Ladies Free Skate

tied for 3rd in Senior Ladies Short Program

Low Team: 8th place

High Team: tied for 3rd place

Everyone on the team also competed in Team Maneuvers events, which are unique to collegiate figure skating.

We are so proud of everyone’s performances! We were especially grateful to have Peggy Fleming Jenkins and her husband Greg Jenkins in attendance to cheer us on, as well as CC’s president, Jill Tiefenthaler.

With your support, we can get the team two steps closer to qualifying for nationals! Go Tigers!
